About Wendy

A practice built on curiosity, care, and the belief that people can change.

I'm Wendy Paterson, a Registered Psychotherapist and Psychoanalyst with a Master in Education in Counselling. For the past 37 years I've had the privilege of doing meaningful, fulfilling work that I love — sitting with adults through some of the most tender and defining seasons of their lives.

Portrait of Wendy Paterson, Registered Psychotherapist and Psychoanalyst

My career began with a number of different positions in community mental health. When I moved into private practice, my interest in psychodynamic psychotherapy grew and I began psychoanalytic training. Analytic training was life changing for me. I learned so much about myself and the many others I have accompanied in the therapy process.

I look forward to many more years of these deeply personal connections and vitalizing conversations. When I am not working, I am happily reading, listening to music, and walking my wonderful dog.

“What’s the bravest thing you’ve ever said?” asked the boy. “Help,” said the horse. “Asking for help isn’t giving up,” said the horse, “it’s refusing to give up.”
